Operation Turkey Exploits Vulnerabilities In Joomla

Tuesday Morning Hacktivists hijacked and defaced a website of a local village in Turkey. They made the announcement on Twitter and Facebook. They placed their logo on the site and uploaded a hip-hop video.

I was able to pull up a version of the website that was saved on Archive.org back in May 2013. After viewing the source code, I was able to identify that the website was running an extremely outdated version of Joomla. I was also able to locate the administrative login page, which is most likely how the hackers accessed the site.

Admin login panel is easily accessible. This is most likely how the hacktivists infiltrated the site.
