Major Security Vulnerability Found in Encrypted USB Drives

CSO Online reported that security researchers in Germany found a weakness that allows full accesses to the data on some encrypted USB devices. This brings light to the fact that regulations like HITECH focus on one facet of security (i.e. strong encryption) but ignore USB Drivesanother facet, like strong authentication, which is just as important. This is akin to putting bars on all of your windows but leaving the front door unlocked.
